Commonly Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
Most families begin with a free 15-minute discovery call. This brief call helps determine whether North State Neurodevelopment & Communication may be a good fit and which next step makes the most sense.
-
An Initial Intake & Planning Session is the first full appointment. It is designed to understand communication needs, current supports, family priorities, and possible next steps. A formal evaluation or written report is not included unless specifically discussed and scheduled separately
-
Not always. Many families begin with an Initial Intake & Planning Session rather than a full evaluation. If a formal evaluation, written report, or more detailed assessment is needed, that can be discussed after the first session.
-
Next steps may include direct speech therapy, parent/caregiver coaching, AAC support, school collaboration, written recommendations, a formal evaluation, or referral to another provider if North State NDC is not the best fit.
